Professional Parliamentarian and Association Consultant Jacob D. Gerber, CPP-T

Credentials, Experience, Publications, and Awards

Credentials
Certified Professional Parliamentarian (CPP): This is the highest credential awarded by the American Institute of Parliamentarians.  To gain it, a candidate must first take a comprehensive written exam over three major parliamentary authorities (Robert’s Rules of Order, The Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure, and Demeter’s Manual of Parliamentary Law and Procedure).

Upon successful completion of the written exam and proof of significant service as a parliamentarian, the candidate receives the credential of Certified Parliamentarian (CP).

Then, to achieve the CPP credential, the candidate must prove completion of further significant service as a parliamentarian and satisfactorally complete an oral examination and a presiding demonstration.  The CPP examination is the most rigorous, comprehensive test given among professional parliamentarians.

Designated Teacher of Parliamentary Procedure (-T): The Teaching Designation requires successful completion of a course on teaching parliamentary procedure.  After completing the course, a candidate must teach at least 15 hours on parliamentary procedure before AIP will award the designation.
